A journey of nine months has finally come to an end!!!
That journey has been one of nothing more than hard work, sacrificial giving, loving support, patience,
learning, fellowship, satisfaction, commitment, and determination!
In PHASE I of the renovation project we had a goal of renovating the second floor so it could
be used to display the rich heritage our ancestors left us.
We were able to go above and beyond this goal! WE NOT ONLY FINISHED THE SECOND FLOOR, WE WERE
ABLE TO RENOVATE THE THIRD FLOOR!
The basement did not escape our renovation efforts! We have created a WAYNE COUNTY CAVE MUSEUM
in the room that has the cave shaft! You have to see it to belive what has been done in that area!
In PHASE II, we will create and organize new displays that will help present and interpret the history
of Wayne County and her citizens.
Some of the rooms on the second floor will be: a WAYNE COUNTY MUSICIANS ROOM, a MILL ROOM, an ART
ROOM, a MEDICAL AND DENTAL ROOM, a HISTORY OF EDUCATION IN WAYNE COUNTY ROOM, a VICTORIAN PARLOR, a COMMUNITY ROOM, and a
MUSEUM DIRECTOR'S OFFICE AND WORK ROOM.
We are not ready to open the second floor to the public at this time but we are working diligently
to be ready by September 10th. You can keep up with the progress of PHASE II by visiting this site on a regular basis.
The plans for the third floor are still under consideration so you can watch for an announcement
about those plans that will be forthcoming.
Unitl you are able to visit the new additions to YOUR MUSEUM, please enjoy the photographs below.
